Backwater Planet is a character driven space opera parody about a group of humans who are the first to leave Earth and go out and explore the galaxy. It is a sequel to another comic, Exco, which took place on Earth and ran two years from 2004-2005.

You don't need to have read Exco to understand Backwater Planet (And honestly I'd rather you didn't until you finshed the Backwater Planet archives), but there are some references you might not completely get. If there's a reference you don't quite get, just check the glossary.
