You may have noticed the 'Raya watches movies' comics often come up earlier than Sunday. I've started using this once a week whenever I'm in danger of missing an update, not just on Sunday.
Yes, Mary and Agent Dikedd met in Exco. If you click the 'New Readers' link you can get to two of the Exco chapters, they met in the second of those chapters.

So, a few 'State of the comic' things. I am realizing I still really love drawing comics, but I'm not a fan of this update schedule anymore. It's not just the full time job, I also have enough money and energy now to do things in the evening. And for the first time in years my buffer is almost gone. But, I really want to finish the comic this summer, and to do that I need to keep up pretty frequent updates. So, until I can build up more comic buffer, I will do this: There will be five story updates per week, one of which will be double size, and Sunday will be a 'Raya watches movies', 'Drakon watches movies', or 'Greg and Charlotte watch alien movies' gag.
I may start another comic after Backwater Planet, but if I do it will be three updates a week. I haven't fleshed any ideas out yet, but I'm thinking it will take place in the same universe with totally different characters and only moderate serialization. There would be a cast of aliens and one human who became stranded on an alien planet somehow, so I could keep doing scifi parody humor and also add social humor and office humor. But, first thing's first, the rest of Backwater Planet.

The 'character' and 'glossary' pages are finally updated, and only a year after I promised they would be. Not too shabby.
